Communication is key

(The photo is of Lilia signing her version of "more" after she devoured a PB & J sandwich and wanting more)
Kids amaze me. Even more amazing is how our little baby is becoming a little girl.

We’ve been trying to teach sign language since she was about 4 months old. The first sign she picked up was milk, followed closely by the sign for more. Since then she’s picked up several others like: drink, eat, sleep, up, down, drink, all done, book, please, open, and most recently yogurt. In addition to signs she’s been learning to speak words like Dada, Mom, Decker, Baypee (baby), Babow (Bosco), Hi, Bubbles, Buh Bye, cheese, lots of animal noises, Gi Doww (Get Down), peez (please) and I love you (her attempt at this is adorable but impossible to write) and many others I’m sure I’m forgetting. I know this isn’t rocket science. But as first time parents everything she does amazes us.

Earlier today she spoke the word tree. It came out as “tee” but she said it as she was pointing to the tree above our car. She was anxious to look at it and feel the leaves every time we’d go to the car, so I was tickled when she said tree after only just telling her what it was the day before. She picked up Baypee (baby) after a little girl in the Doctors office called Lilia a baby . She came home and later that day walked around saying it all day long. Thought you might enjoy this video:
